Josh Boykin

joined the Marine Corps in 2003 in response to the Iraq war, where I ended up serving. After I got out of the Marines, I didn’t really know what to do with myself. I decided to go to law school at the University of Miami. After I graduated, it was a similar feeling, I didn’t really know what to do with myself. I began working for the Wardell Law Firm in 2015 doing VA disability claims. I really enjoyed helping other veterans, and finally figured out what I wanted to do. After a few years, we worked with Will Markham and Jeff O’Hara on a claim. That eventually evolved into them creating Project OVAT. I now find myself working the procedural and substantive sides of the VA claims process for Project OVAT clients. It is very rewarding, especially because of the caliber of veterans that Will and Jeff work with. I am honored to be able to help Special Operations service members. These guys deserve everything that the VA has to offer, and we will do whatever it takes to make sure they get it!

Jeffrey O’Hara

The son of a US Army paratrooper & quasi-father of a US Army OIF multi-tour combat veteran, Jeffrey regretfully missed his call to military service, instead pursuing a legal career upon completion of his education. Recognizing the perpetual debt he owed to those who selflessly answered that call, Jeffrey has dedicated a substantial portion of his personal time and resources serving those who have served since 2001.

Jeffrey is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, actively licensed to practice in New Jersey since 1992. He has managed litigation nationally, predominantly arising from catastrophic casualty events, and has tried in excess of 65 matters to verdict. Jeffrey was honored in 2020 by induction as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, widely regarded as the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America. Additionally, he has attained the rank of Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates, has been recognized as a Barrister in the Order of Juris for the Litigation Counsel of America and has achieved an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Arising directly from the pro bono battle he waged on behalf of CCM William Markham, US Air Force (retired), Jeffrey remains accredited by the Department of Veteran Affairs to present and prosecute claims for veterans’ benefits. In this regard, he is a founding principal with Project OVAT – a charitable entity dedicated to providing medical and legal support at no cost to select veterans pursuing VA claims.
